I'm Jonathan. I build AI products from messy idea to shipped system.
For the past five years I have been building production systems. For the last two, most of that work has been in AI: voice agents, intake automation, long-form workflows, backend services, and the integrations those systems need to survive outside a demo.
Most recently, I have been building at Brokerloop, a Melbourne-based Australian insurtech, as technical founder. The work there has been practical by necessity: voice intake, broker workflows, Go services, compliance constraints, real customers, and integrations people actually use.
I came into AI through full-stack engineering and consulting, not research. That route shapes how I think. Before asking which model to use, I care about what should be built, who it is for, what it costs, what breaks, what needs human review, and what metric proves it is useful.
The model is one piece of the system, not the system.
This site is mostly notes from that work: AI product direction, voice AI, backend systems, Go, workflow design, production lessons, and the gap between impressive demos and products people actually adopt.
Outside my main work, I take a small number of contracts each year. I am most useful to teams with an AI prototype that works in a demo but needs clearer product direction, stronger backend infrastructure, workflow design, or production hardening.
New work is usually by referral. If you're weighing whether I'm the right fit, here's what I take on — and who it isn't for. Email is the easiest way to reach me: jabrahamtech@gmail.com.
Selected work
Mostly greenfield — small startup builds through to large production systems. Confidential where noted.
- Fraud detection AI · tier-one Australian bank. Architected an AI fraud-detection system inside one of the big four. Internal-facing, regulated environment, lived inside the bank's stack with all the audit trail that implies. Confidential client.
- US engineering contract · funded LA startup (2024). Helped a Los Angeles company ship their first venture-backed product. Shipped engineering across the time gap. Confidential. Open to more US work.
- Brokerloop · technical founder. I run this. Voice intake for Australian insurance brokers, plus the Go services underneath — integrations with broker platforms, long-form workflows, and the parts that have to keep working when call volume spikes.
- IoT automation · largest laundry in the southern hemisphere. Built the automation layer connecting industrial machines to operations. Real machines on a real floor, throughput at scale, runs hands-off. Range work — proves the engineering travels outside AI.
- Low-latency event-driven architecture. A sub-second decision pipeline I originally built around prediction markets. The architecture works anywhere reaction time is the bottleneck: trading signals, real-time risk, anything event-driven.
- Open source · what I'm reading. I read more code than I write publicly. Currently following nautilus_trader (Rust trading engine), ComfyUI (diffusion graph), and open-webui (local LLM tooling).
